None of these ever sound all that great but dammit if, on occasion, one or all fit. For example, the first one was used when I was telling my girl about something an ex recently did. To offer context, she was making the point that he thought too highly of his place in my life. This is the danger of over-estimation. I'm not going to front, at the time, he was the apple of my eye. But once removed from the situation, I'm like whatever. But the man is still living back then in that moment.
